Parolan Asema

With a simple cutting technique, felt sheets can be transformed into a glowing lamp to decorate your home. The Villavalo lamp can be arranged as a cascading flow of leaves on the edge of a dresser, evoking warm memories of summer while providing soft, ambient light.

For this project, you’ll need white felted wool from Koskenpää Felt Factory, 2 mm thick, in a piece approximately 70×140 cm in size, with a density of 0.28 g/cm³.

The flowing Villavalo lamp was crafted by Katja Rinkinen from Parolan Asema. The design and instructions are featured in Katja Rinkinen’s book Vintagen viemää: 50 sisustusprojektia Parolan asemalta (WSOY, published 04/2011).
